The Paschal mystery of Christ's
cross and Resurrection stands at the center of the Good News that the apostles,
and the Church following them, are to proclaim to the world. God's saving plan
was accomplished "once and for all" by the redemptive death of his Son Jesus
Christ.
- Catechism of the Catholic Church #57
It is truly reasonable to say that both Catholics and Protestants love the Lord Jesus Christ and seek to worship Him. It is not unreasonable to say that both Catholics and Protestants seek eternal salvation and have faith in Jesus Christ. This common ground makes it vitally important for us to seek to dialogue with each other and understand each others confessions and beliefs as a whole. There should be no hate or animosity between Catholics and Protestants, even if there is tension. As the scriptures record, the Lord Jesus Christ founded one Church and sought that His disciples would share one faith and would not be divided in anything.
